How to Get More Traffic to Your Blog

Nobody in the history of the internet has ever created a blog or a website that has instantly attracted hundreds of thousands of people and with the amount of blogs and websites that are out there, this seem highly unlikely to change anytime soon. My friend Ines Cano Uribe and I had a blog for many years that simply wasn’t getting the level of traffic that we felt it deserved so we took action.

After many weeks of researching and testing we gradually started to see an improvement in traffic figures and we now see a very strong amount each day. If you want to boost your blog’s performance and get more traffic, here are some of the ways to do it.

Social Media Engagement

Social media is a great tool to use when you are trying to get more people to your blog and it literally gives you access to hundreds of thousands of people at once. In order to grow a strong social media following you need to be engaging with as many people as possible, supporting the community and sharing a great del of content to get people involved.

High Quality Content

If you want people to find value in your site so that they will like and share your stuff, it is vital that you are producing regular content that is of a very high quality. When you write pieces you should be going through them with a fine tooth-comb to ensure that they are topical, that they stay on point and that they actually give value or information to the person who is reading it. If you are not producing high quality content then you cannot expect to get more traffic or repeat visitors.

SEO Techniques

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and it is the practice of various techniques which pushes your website up the search results for a particular set of keywords. The reason that this is so important is that very few people look beyond the first 2 or maximum 3 pages of Google or other search engines when they are looking for something. For this reason it pays to feature on those top pages and if you want to do so, you need to learn about and employ SEO techniques on your site.

Partnerships

If you want to give your site a real boost then reach out across the web to influencers and others within your niche to create mutually beneficial partnerships. Remember that the internet is a community and each person relies on the help of another, if you can actively help another website or writer and they can do the same for you then you can expose your website to a larger group of people and ultimately boost your traffic.

The best way of getting traffic to your site is to make sure that you are doing all that you can to tell people about it, ‘build it and they will come’ is not a phrase that carries any weight in the online world.
