Moms Deserve a Break Too

As a mother, you know that time can be in short supply more often than you’d like it to be.

With that in mind, what are you doing to squeeze in a break or two during the day?

No, not the 15-minute breaks you may get twice a day in a corporate job. The breaks where you get to enjoy life to yourself for a few minutes.

If you haven’t been getting the breaks you deserve, what can you do to change that moving forward?

Take Time for You

In trying to get some time for yourself, here are a few thoughts you may want to pursue:

1. Spa day – What woman doesn’t like going off to a spa for a few hours or even a short vacation? Yes, if you have a full-time job and you are also raising children, the free time may seem like a thing of the past. That said look around your area to see what spas exist. Whether at the local gym or a resort, find a spa that you can get away to for a few hours. Whether you go with a female relative or your best girlfriend, it can be a great day out. Heck, you may want to go all alone and enjoy it all to yourself. Spas can be great not only from a physical standpoint, but also to relax your mind.

2. Mani and pedicure day – Most women enjoy some time getting their nails done. You may want to schedule a day to do this and put some sparkle in your life. With that being the case, you don’t even have to leave your home if you choose not to. You can opt for five free nail polish and do your nails in the comfort of your home. One great thing about the polishes is they are free of the toxins your body can encounter in other products. With a favorite color on your nails, you will feel better about your hands.

3. Reading or movie day – Have you in the past immersed yourself in a good book or movie? If so, you likely felt you did not have a care in the world. So, there’s no reason you can’t do that again. Schedule some time where you are alone and get to reading or watching a great flick. Before you know it, all your daily troubles will be gone. Well, that is at least for a few hours.

4. Day with your best friend – Many women have that one female friend they can count on through thick and thin. That said schedule a day with your best friend to get away from it all. You could have your partner or a family member watch your children for the day. Before you know it, you and your best female friend are off for a day of fun and relaxation. No matter what the two of you end up doing, it is a chance to get out and relive old times and make some new memories too.
In being a healthier and happier mom, make sure you set aside time for you.

Remember, you have a lot of responsibilities in life. That said one of them is taking care of you.
