While our modern lifestyles provide endless conveniences thanks to advances in technology, one thing many of us struggle to make more of is time. From the rush home after work to get ready to go out with friends, or those late nights in the office which zap all our energy and end with ready-meals on the couch, all that hustle and bustle means that it’s pretty easy to start developing some fairly unhealthy habits.

So, today we’re going to share three simple and quick meals for when you’re in a rush; whether you’re going out again or just wanting to chill for the night; and they’re all simple, straightforward, and very tasty. So, without further a due, let’s get started!

Pasta Bakes!

Is there anything in life more heartwarming than a home-made pasta bake? When you want to eat a good, filling meal, all you need to do is boil some pasta, drain it, and then add it to a baking dish.

From there, mix the pasta with whatever you like – seasoning, sauces, grated cheese, slices of ham and other cooked meat, tuna, chopped vegetables (peppers are an absolute must!) – and you’ll be on your way to one of the most easy and enjoyable meals you’ve had all week.

In fact, not only is it simple, quick, and hearty, but it can also be terrific for your health. Instead of using regular macaroni or cannelloni shells, try adding some buckwheat pasta or wholegrain pasta. They’re much better for you, so you won’t need to feel guilty about eating any extra calories!

Cashew and Chicken Stir Fry

This is one of our all-time favorite new discoveries – combining water chestnuts, green peppers, and cashews, this amazingly versatile little dish won’t take more than half an hour to complete and will leave a satisfied smile on the face of anyone fortunate enough to try it!

Simply dissolve some cornflour along with some stock, add soy sauce and ginger, and set this mixture to the side.

Then, start heating up a little oil in a frying pan. Once the oil’s heated, add some chicken and turn it regularly until you’re sure it’s well-cooked. Then, add a little more oil to the pan, along with some onion, green peppers, water chestnuts, and cashews. Finally, take the mixture you made before and add it back into the dish. Allow everything to cook over a medium heat for around ten minutes, and then serve it up. We promise, you’ve never tasted anything this good!

Macaroni Cheese

For anyone seeking a guilty pleasure, you won’t find a dish that’s easier to make or more gratifying than some gold old mac and cheese. Just heat some butter in a pan, along with some onions, and add flour and salt to taste.

Some milk and macaroni can then be mixed in, before leaving it to soften for 15 minutes or so. Stir it occasionally, and then – when you’re happy with the consistency – add some cheese and allow it to melt while you stir everything together.

Then, it’s simply a case of sitting down and enjoying this amazingly simple dish which will put a smile on the face of anyone, regardless of age!

This list is just a handful of the amazing and yet very enjoyable meals which you can cook when you’re in a quick fix. However, don’t forget to keep checking back at MamaWantThis for more articles just like it, as we’re always making new content for the site!
